Jam-Packed Week

The days passed quickly and it's been a week since my last post. Well, there's the typhoon Pedring joined with Globe's unreliable internet connection, which almost drained my positive energy the whole week. I'll make a separate post about it promise!

My week had been filled with happy energy moments! (oh! parang enervon lang hehehe) events and unexpected surprises!  I've been busy with my sidelines (raket to the max!) to earn money so I could buy what I want and what I need for myself and family ( i have a long list - Santa can you hear me??? ^_^). You know, Christmas is just around the corner, so I need to work...work.

♥ King Bee Chinese Restaurant ♥

King Bee is my son's favorite restaurant. Whenever we would dine out and visit this chinese restaurant, my son gets a little hyperactive or should I say excited. So last week, husband and I decided to treat him there and as soon as he overheard the magic words he started cheering "King Bee! King Bee!"

Of course, he never failed to order his all time favorite dish, and that is Sweet & Sour pork together with Yang Chow fried rice.

My son is not a picky-eater, he loves veggies, fish and eats in moderation but this restaurant really, really boosts my son's appetite everytime!

As you can see he's happy and satisfied...burp! (busog) ^_^

Make Me Forget About You

I can't help but sigh whenever the Max Factor Mineral Foundation that I bought yesterday crosses my mind. I thought the 'Sand shade' matches my skintone really well but as soon as I got back home and saw my face in the mirror the truth was revealed..curse the lights at the mall waaah!!! It didn't match my skintone at all! It looks like I had a fake tan on my face. (sob!) I don't want my money to simply just go to waste so what I did, I mixed it with my other mineral foundation so I could still use it. Another sigh! I should have chosen the Revlon Photoready foundation that I first tried or just stick to my current Revlon Colorstay (Buff) instead. Lesson learned, next time I'll be very careful on trying other foundation shades.

Honestly, I am very proud of my son not only for being so good in computer games whether its X box or PS 3, at the age of seven I tell you, he should not be underestimated. At his young age he already knew his priorities. Recently, he received an honor recognition (third honors) from the school director and principal for having an average of 90.46. I'm glad that he keeps his grades up despite the fact that I let him review all by himself, I want him to have that sense of independence.

He loves to read, first thing in the morning when he wakes up, he would finish his breakfast and right after that sit on the couch and read ( yeah! I must confess he didn't get that love-to-read thing from me). I read yet I'm not a book worm , however I love the fact that it helps me to fall fast asleep. ^_^

Yuna Grace

Miss Universe 2011

The 60th anniversary of  the Miss Universe pageant was held at Credicard Hall in Sao Paulo, Brazil, Sept.12, 2011. There were 89 contestants in this year's pageant surpassing the record of 86 participants  in year 2006.

Jergens Lotion plus Freebies

My mom's favorite brand of lotion is Jergens that's why my sister and I grew up using the same brand. Back then mom would buy us a big bottle of it instead of giving us separate ones, for us to share. One way of teaching us not to be selfish.

A month ago I purchased two big bottles of Jergens Anti-bacterial lotion both 500ml. I put one in the bathroom and the other in our bedroom so every time I need to use it I don't need to go up and down the stairs. Unfortunately, both pumps don't work, so I end up holding it upside down, pounding and shaking out the contents everytime I use them and until I used them all up (messy!).

And so I purchased another 500ml bottle a week ago at the same grocery store where I purchased the two. Guess what? another defective pump!!! That's the time when I decided to call the customer service, but nobody answered my phone calls so I ended up sending an email. After 24hrs I received a reply from Vibelle Mfg. Corp. and the next day a representative dropped by my home.

I showed to him the defective pump and also told him where I purchased it and the other two. The representative told me that they will look into the problem ASAP. I told him to check their products at the grocery  store as well. After the small talk, I was surprised when he gave me these

I just hope next time I won't encounter another defective pump. I love Jergens!♥♥♥

The Birth of The Blessed Virgin Mary

Look at this beautiful bouquet of flowers that greeted me in front of my door this morning.

Unfortunately, it's not mine. ^_^  My son said it's for Mama Mary. ^_^

Today (September 8) is the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary. My son brought this bouquet of white flowers to school for special offering.

His dad ordered this last night from our friendly neighbor's flower shop and was delivered early in the morning today, so it's still fresh-looking.

History:

The Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary was celebrated at least by the sixth century, when St. Romanos the Melodist, an Eastern Christian who composed many of the hymns used in the Eastern Catholic and Eastern Orthodox liturgies, composed a hymn for the feast. The feast spread to Rome in the seventh century, but it was a couple more centuries before it was celebrated throughout the West.

The source for the story of the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary is the Protoevangelium of James, an apocryphal gospel written about A.D. 150. From it, we learn the names of Mary's parents, Joachim and Anna, as well as the tradition that the couple was childless until an angel appeared to Anna and told her that she would conceive. (Many of the same details appear also in the later apocryphal Gospel of the Nativity of Mary.)


The traditional date of the feast, September 8, falls exactly nine months after the feast of the Immaculate Conception of Mary. Perhaps because of its close proximity to the feast of the Assumption of Mary, the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary is not celebrated today with the same solemnity as the Immaculate Conception. It is, nonetheless, a very important feast, because it prepares the way for the birth of Christ.

Studio SnR-Majolica Majorca Workshop-CBTL Single Serve Beverage System-Barista Workshop

As I promised I'm going to share to you my experience at the recent Studio SnR and Majolica Majorca workshop held last September 3 at Millenium Place, Ortigas.

Did I mention in my part one post that I was jumping with joy and excitement when I found out that I had been given a free slot for the said workshop?

Anyway, because I was so excited, I woke up early that day (saturday) and was ready as early as 8:00 am going to the event place. I didn't want to be late as I was informed by Sydney that all participants should be there at exactly 9:00am sharp.

My husband accompanied me to the event place. I waved goodbye to him before stepping inside the elevator. And so onto the event. Hurray! I was the first one to arrive among the 20 participants. Time check - 8:45am ehem! hahaha!

At the reception area I was told to fill-up the form and then after that she (the receptionist) gave me my first loot bag. Inside my loot bag are hygiene tools, makeup tools, pearl bracelet, Parian Spirit makeup brush cleaner, Php 2,000 CBTL discount coupon, The Best Deals on SALE stub and a Blush magazine with Anne Curtis on the cover. ^_^

Tadah! I finally met Sydney of Studio SnR, and after some chikahan moments with her I met the two other early birds.

The 4th participant who showed up was Ria. She became not only my makeup buddy during the workshop but also my shopping buddy at The Megatent Sale. ^_^

While we were waiting for Ms. Aimee of Majolica Majorca. We kept ourselves busy, making chika and munching the food pictured below.

What is Majolica Majorca? According to Aimee it is the sister and cheaper counter part of Shiseido. She told us the story behind the logo of MM. She said the bird represents a woman who was given the power to make the other women beautiful and her mission is to spread beauty all over the world.

What have I learned from this workshop?  The basic makeup application was fun. I did learn how to use my eyeshadow palette....finally! Now, I want to purchase lots of it. ^_^ I learned the secret of mixing and blending of foundation that will match my skintone. That's good news because it means I can still use the foundation that I bought (didn't match my skintone- blend, blend, blend that's the secret).

Ria, my makeup and shopping buddy encouraged me to enroll in HD Studio. And I thought of giving it a try. Yeah! I told my husband about it and he said YES!!!

Oops! I almost forgot to tell you about my 2nd loot bag. What's inside?  There's the Majolica Majorca jeweling eyes, honey pump gloss neo, sugary trap, free makeover coupon and Php 250 off coupon all from Majolica Majorca.

Independence and Parenting Style

Now that my son is in grade two, I let him review and do his assignment on his own. During the first quarter examination I didn't provide any reviewer as I used to when he was in grade one. I want him to be independent, but of course I still want him to have good grades. On thursday, I'll get his report card.

As a parent, I expect him to have high grades but then again I cannot just change what I have imposed if ever the result would not be the way I wanted. Learning is a continuous process anyway. I'll just have to wait and see what happens.♥

Studio SnR and Majolica Majorca Makeup Workshop Part I

I was dancing in happiness and excitement when Sydney of Studio SnR informed me that I have been chosen as the lucky AMW winner who will receive a FREE slot at the Majolica Majorca workshop.

I checked my schedule first before joining and then finally I submitted my entry in AMW's comment box, that is just in case I win I will know if I can make it or not on the specified date.

Here's what I said:

When I was a child I dream of becoming a flight attendant or a bank teller all because I wanted to wear make-up everyday. Back then, I thought that my mom will only allow me to use make-up when I landed these jobs. =)


Right now, to become a professional make-up artist is what I want. This workshop will be my first step to reaching that goal.

I need to learn and be equipped with the right makeup tools and techniques.

I'm 10 Weeks and Craving Lollipop

I support Breast Cancer Awareness and my dear followers knew the reason why. When I posted this I'm 10 weeks and I'm craving Lollipop! as my status message last night on Facebook, everyone thought I was pregnant.Who wouldn't think I wasn't?
