Back-To-School Essentials

Yesterday, was another day spent at my son's school. We paid his tuition fee, bought school supplies, book supplies, P.E. uniform, basically every thing that he needs in school. After doing all that we then went to the mall and bought his top to bottom essentials, like his leather shoes, rubber shoes, underwear, socks and etc. Husband and I let him choose his preferred footwear, while we patiently waited; comfortably sitting on a cushioned bench.

Shoe size problem. He was not able to buy his first choice of shoes because most of the available shoes in kid's section won't fit him. Talking about big foot! Mr. Salesman brought him to the teen section. Finally, after 1 hour he bought two pairs of shoes. He's growing so fast, and I'm not so surprised! I guess it's with the genes. My brother is 6 foot 3 and most of the men in our family are really tall. For the women, I think I'm the only exception because I'm only 5'3" (160cm). That's why they call me "bansot".

Anyway, there's only one thing that I missed to buy and that is a bigger beverage bottle for my son. Last year, he used Thermos' Vacuum Insulated Hydration bottle. It has a double wall vacuum insulation for maximum temperature retention. Problem is the capacity, you can only put 18oz of water in it, which is not applicable for my son's amount of water consumption during school hours. Although there are several cool drinking water fountain in their school, I'm not so sure if it's really safe.

Nuffnang and Hapee Special Screening

Whenever I hear the word "FIRST CLASS" first thing that comes to my mind is EXCELLENCE. If a firm or product has been classified with this word it means that they hit the highest mark among the rest of their competition and I believe that NUFFNANG and HAPEE have proven that already. They standout in their own ways. They have built a strong foundation with hardwork and determination. And I am proud as a Filipino that NUFFNANG and HAPEE are both growing and growing in their own fields. NUFFNANG is the first and leading blog advertising community in Asia-Pacific while HAPEE is the first Filipino toothpaste to ever penetrate the toothpaste market that has been dominated by multinational companies.

Mini Treat

Last May 20, we dropped by at my son's school to get his report card, at the same time, we also enrolled him for SY 2011-2012. We were not able to get his report card on the scheduled date that's why we only got to see his grades last Friday. Anyway, husband and I were so happy to see that EJ did not only maintain his good grades but even keeps his grades up. And because of that Daddy gave EJ a little treat.

forgot to bring my digicam... so here's our blurry phone camera photos

We had a simple dinner at his favorite restaurant King Bee, right after doing our weekly grocery shopping. We had his number one favorite dish Sweet and Sour Pork and tried two other dishes - Lohanchay and Stir -Fried King Fish.

Canon PowerShot A1200

I bought a new point and shoot camera a month ago. I had no choice but to purchase a new one when my old camera crashed! (literally). I accidentally dropped it on the floor.
Canon PowerShot A1200 is my new baby. I was able to use this first hand during our 3-day trip in Singapore. Honestly, I wasn't expecting anything special in it considering that I bought it for only Php 4, 590.00. So, what made me consider to purchase this camera? Price - as I've mentioned it's very affordable yet dependable. Quality - this camera delivers what I wanted and that is picture-perfect photographs. As you know I like scrapbooking, and turning those captured moments into digital scraps and hybrid scraps requires clear photos for printing.
Since this camera can determine the subject and shooting conditions, I can let it automatically select the best settings for the scene and just shoot. The camera can also detect and focus in faces, setting the color and brightness to optimal levels.I'm not a professional photographer but this camera allows me to take worry-free pictures with it's Easy Mode function. This also prevents incorrect operation of the camera.

So, if you want to capture those perfect moments and bring out the creative artist in you minus the need to shell out much of your hard-earned money then Canon PowerShot A1200 is what you need.

On Magazine Appearances

It simply makes me happy seeing the photographs of my son being included in different magazines. I remember the first photo that I submitted, back in 2004. In a "Happy Baby of the Month" section of Baby Magazine. He was just three months old. Every month, I would go to the postal office to mail his photographs. Yes, via snail mail at that time. Years had gone by and so the system has evolved too, making it easier for me to submit his photos. All I have to do is upload the photo that I want and send it via email, how convenient! Here's the first photograph of my son that I submitted in Baby Mag.
And soon after that I began to collect all the magazines where he has appeared. As of now, I'm sharing with you his latest magazine appearance together with us (mommy and daddy) in Moms and Kids' "Family Moments" page.

Twinings Range of Fine Teas

I am a coffee drinker by day and tea drinker at night. Husband and I, got hooked having a cup of tea right after dinner. It all started when green tea became so popular because of its medicinal uses and health benefits. And so, we welcomed ourselves to the world of tea. The very first that we tried was Twinings Earl Grey green tea. It's a delicious blend with subtle flavour of the citrus fruit, Bergamot. Sometimes, I mix a teaspoon of honey and calamansi with it.

From the variants of Twinings green tea, we've already tried a lot, like green tea & lemon, green tea & mint, jasmine and of course earl grey. Other flavors that we've tried from the flavoured black tea range were Four Red Fruits and Apple Cinnamon & Raisin.

Tonight, I'll get to try another flavor for free! I've won a box of Twinings Pure White Tea from Twinings Philippines' facebook raffle promo. I guess, it's also my reward for being a fan of this brand.

Twinings Pure White Tea has a delicate, smooth velvety flavour with a naturally sweet taste. It has the highest antioxidant level among the tea variants which helps fight and kill cancer-causing cells.

The FLOweR Collection

Yes, It feels like home to me. The memories of our firsts were here. This is where it all started, where it grew and blossomed into something so beautiful.

My family had an overnight stay in Silang, Cavite weeks ago. Every time we pay a visit to our hometown we make sure to visit our relatives on both sides.

Here we are at our grandmother's house and her beautiful garden. This is the place where family members get together whenever there's a special occasion.

My son celebrated his first birthday here as well his christening. We used to live here too. When my husband and I got married we stayed here for a couple of months before moving to our own place.

I love flowers, so I made sure to have souvenir photos before going back home. Someday, I'll have my own garden, filled with colorful and beautiful flowers.

Tita Flor is the one maintaining this beautiful garden that's why I named it "The FLOweR Collection". I like the purple orchids pictured above. Aside from the colors apple green and magenta, purple is the color that I really like.

My son sitting in front of the gate. See the rock beside him? It says "Welcome to our Home"

Whenever I get to see this place, I can't help but reminisce the good memories we shared in this house.

This is where I found the love of my life. This is where that love blossomed into a long and lasting love.(teary-eyed!) hahaha!

Summit Books' Big Surprise!

I was one of the 100 Summit Book fans, who got lucky in their Summit Books' Big Surprise promo on Facebook. I received a copy of Claire Betita's "No Boyfriend Since Birth" novel, plus Garnier products. It's funny because I wanted to buy the exact book years ago, back when I was still single and no boyfriend haha! I'm a big fan of Chic Lit. Now that I have it, I'm not interested to read it anymore (just kidding)! As soon as my husband handed it to me, I began to read it. When I'm done reading this book, I'll share it to my younger cousin I'm sure she'll love it too.

Anyway, how about you? What's your favorite Chic lit? Do you know that you can now order your favorite Summit Book online?  Yes, you'll get to see all the books available for purchase through National Bookstore's online store. Check it out now! Happy reading!!!

Agent Provocateur Signature Fragrance

Agent Provocateur is the latest perfume in my collection. This was a gift given to me by a friend during my short vacation trip in Singapore. According to her this is the newest favorite perfume of most women there and it's only available in limited edition.

I love perfume, but I prefer the light-scented ones like D&G Light Blue and Emperatrice which I'm currently using. Both perfumes are just perfect for summer! However, AP is quite interesting! According to the website, AP is an award winning Signature Fragrance, a modern classic combining pure saffron oil from India, Moroccan rose oil, Egyptian jasmine, French magnolia oil, amber and musk. Encased in a precious porcelain bottle, this scent has become synonymous with seduction, pleasure and provocation of the senses.
The scent is a little strong for me, but I like that it's different from the ones that I have. I think I'll use it during the rainy season or maybe during the "Ber" months when the weather is cold.

Oops! I forgot to mention that I saw this in GH Magazine's latest issue (May 2011).

Contest: Summer Giveaway from Purple Plum Fairy

I can't leave without sunblock or sunscreen. It's a must-have whenever I go out, to avoid the harmful rays of the sun. I'm using sunblock with SPF 60 for my body and SPF 50 for my face. I've been telling my husband to use it too, though he doesn't want to, he had no choice as I'm the one putting sunscreen on his face haha!

I know how important sunblock/sunscreen is, that's why I also make sure that my child's skin is always protected whenever he's out for his swimming lessons. Good thing Purple Plum Fairy is giving away Banana Boat's Sunscreen lotion in SPF 50. I hope to win one of these for my son.

This sunscreen lotion is only one of the cool summer prizes she'll be giving away. Interested to join? Check out her site for more info about the prizes you could win. Contest ends May 21, 2011.

Singapore Trip: Day 3 (Food Trip at T3)

I'm sharing some of the photos of our last day in Singapore. Because it's the last day, food trip was the very first thing that came to my mind. We had a mix of everything for lunch at Changi Airport Terminal 3.
Delicious Korean fish soup, I like that there's no fishy smell or after taste despite the fact that it's fish soup and  it's not spicy.
My son had Popeye's chicken and fries
 and onion rings too
I had my favorite Korean dish Bibimbap
This is an Indian dish. I forgot what it's called as I'm not a big fan of food with curry.
A Malaysian dish. It's chicken and squid with spicy sauce. I like that the spicyness is tolerable unlike the others.
My husband had Bulgogi and Japchae.

Singapore Trip: Souvenirs

We bought sets of  keychain souvenirs from Chinatown during the first day of our trip in Singapore.

I make sure to take home ref magnets too. This one is the newest in my collection from our different trips local and abroad.

I bought these Merlion chocolates at Changi Airport Terminal 3
To make sure that every kid in our family gets pasalubong (present). I put the chocolates in ziploc bags together with their names on it.
